Cynodonts

Cynodonts were an early relative to the triassic period and dug burrows to live in. Their enemy were a raptor like creature that waited outside the burrow until the mother came out to feed, then they would pounce. They were named after their dog like teeth. The word 'cynodont' meant 'dog tooth'.
